Las Vegas, NM (COH)

 April 12 -19, 2024  | Las Vegas, NM

Two hours northeast of Albuquerque sits the picturesque town of Las Vegas, New Mexico. And even though it has been the site of well-known movies and TV shows, such as Red Dawn and Longmire, it’s also a place that has experienced the devastating aftermath of wildfires.

Recent fires burned more than 620 homes. Trees used for firewood, sheds that housed supplies, and fences used to corral cattle were destroyed. The weakened and soot-filled soil, combined with seasonal rains and erosion, have wreaked havoc on the city’s main water source.

A local church partner is working with others throughout the community to help. Beyond the relief stage, Convoy of Hope Field Teams is honored to partner with the church’s pastor during the rehabilitation stage. We are walking with the whole community to rebuild the best parts of the life they remember.

Along with the rehabilitation work, there are opportunities to connect with people through ministry, such as youth gatherings or meals for weary workers.
